Program Overview

The Columbia Leadership Institute is more than a traditional workshop, it is a long-term developmental experience that seeks to positively change and improve leadership behavior through a process of self-awareness and self-discovery. The program includes both off-site and in-house learning opportunities. Participants can explain their perceptions and attitudes about leadership and develop more self-awareness about both their strengths and what is holding them back. The program utilizes small learning groups that are guided by professional trainers who assist participants in gaining more effective skills in communication and feedback. Participants are then better able to comprehend and analyze their leadership style and see how it affects other’s behavior.

 

The methodologies taught at CLI have emerged from both research on effective organizations and leadership development—as well as the experience of working with hundreds of management and supervisory groups.
